Microsoft is working towards increasing the possibilities of AI for over 25 years. It is enabling both public and private organizations to apply AI technologies. In its mission to give authority to every organization and individual around the world to obtain more, it is deploying its AI technologies throughout the different areas over the world. Like healthcare, education, agricultural, retail, e-commerce, financial services, and manufacturing.
Microsoft is also applying AI strategy all over India. There are various ways in which Microsoft India is using AI technologies which are beneficial to everyone.
AI in Healthcare: Microsoft has its AI Network for Healthcare that targets to increase the ability of AI and cloud computing to accelerate innovation in the healthcare industry. Associating with some of the top healthcare organizations, the company is helping in preventive care in ophthalmology and cardiology.
AI for Accessibility: Its AI for Accessibility program is a $25 million, a five-year program from Microsoft for developers globally, including in India to accelerate the development of accessible and intelligent AI solutions to help the 1 billion-plus people with disabilities around the world. Leveraging technology for all, the company offers Seeing AI, an app designed for people with visual disabilities to help them describe people, text, currency, color, and objects. MSR has developed the AI-powered Interactive Cane to aid people with visual impairment to navigate.
AI for Agriculture- Microsoft, in supporting with International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), is using new technologies such as AI, Cloud Machine Learning, Satellite Imagery, and advanced analytics to help the farmers arrive at the best sowing date for crops helping crop yields increase by 10-30%. The company has also developed a Pest Risk Prediction API in partnership with United Phosphorous Limited (UPL) by leveraging AI and ML to indicate risks of pest attack in advance. As part of the FarmBeats project, the company is also building several solutions. To solve these problems using low-cost sensors, drones, and vision and machine learning algorithms.
AI for Retail: AI has become a big element in the digitalization by individualizing customer experiences. For retail companies, AI has been creating an opportunity to bridge the gap between physical and virtual channels. AI is helping retail companies in better accumulation and organizations of large customer data. Using this data, AI can draw conclusions and create a more personalized shopping experience for the users.
AI for Education: AI in education usually focuses on identifying what a student does and doesn't know through diagnostic testing and then developing personalized curricula based on each student's specific needs. Also, AI can automate the expedition of administrative duties for teachers and academic institutions. Educators spend a lot of time on grading exams, assessing homework, and providing valuable responses to their students. But technology can be used to automate the grading tasks where multiple tests are involved.
